What not to miss when I'm in Stellenbosch for one day.
Discover Stellenbosch on Foot - meet a local guide at the Tourism Office (departs 11h00 and 15h00 daily) or buy a copy of the "Stellenbosch on Foot" Map (available in Afrikaans, English, German and French). Visit the Village Museum in Ryneveld Street as well as 'Oom Samie se Winkel' in Dorp Street (Uncle Samie's Shop - the oldest general dealer store in South Africa).
Stroll through Church and Andringa Streets - here you will find numerous exciting boutiques and curio shops interlinking with side walk café's and restaurants.
Our art galleries are also well worth a visit - Stellenbosch boasts small private galleries as well as the well known such as The Stellenbosch University Art Museum in Ryneveld Street or the Rupert Museum that houses an exceptional collection of South African and international art.
Do not leave Stellenbosch without embarking on a wine tour. Half and full day tours are available as well as a hop-on-hop-off service, with regular departures from Stellenbosch Tourism & Information.
